In case you didn’t know, teaching Calligraphy is actually my “Side-hustle”. I am a registered nurse & have been working as an OR nurse for over 30 years.
I began practicing calligraphy again, after a couple decades of neglect, as a therapy of sorts to help me deal with my Autoimmune Condition: Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.
In regards to my day job, one question I am asked very often is:
How does a nurse deal with the stress of working on the “Front lines” of a global pandemic?
My answer: By making the time to cultivate a daily creativity practice, of course! Not only do I enjoy teaching calligraphy, but I feel a great sense of calm when I incorporate calligraphy into my own mindfulness practice.

I find that my Pointed Pen Practice is especially calming to my nervous system. As I create each stroke of a letter I am slowly and intentionally doing so. Plus I’m listening to the scratch of the nib as it glides across the paper. To me there is not better sound!😂
Although I cannot control what happens in this BIG Crazy World, I can do my best to try to manage what is going on in my inner world.
